i'm not saying or assuming that he is, i really don't know anything about him but this argument is a bit... naive

i see so many fans use these kinds of arguments to defend their faves, not only against islamophobia but also racism, transphobia etc and it's just.. not doing what they think it's doing. i don't think they understand that racism is not always visible; it doesn't always involve intimidating or passive aggressive behavior. taking a picture or smiling at someone doesn't prove anything, you can still feel negative about a group of people and do harm without outwardly showing your disdain for them
