I understand the cutting views parts, but cutting likes? I mean you need an account to give a like, how can that be spam?

Maybe the likes thing is just a bug? Analytics tool still shows the old amount of Likes (4.8Mil) and the new number of Views (45.5 Mil)

Views are usually deleted when there is such much activity on a video, due to bots and "fake" accounts etc. Thankfully though, that's all that got deleted. I've seen worse to be honest from other videos. Let's hope no more get deleted from here.

Not sure what happened with the likes though. Bots can't like/dislike videos so YT must be accusing "fake accounts", which is a reach as so many were deleted in one go...

@dooh it jumped up at exactly the 24hour mark (i refreshed the analytics site at exactly 4pm my time), that's why our screenshots have a difference of 400k views :)

TBH, I'm not really angry at Youtube deleting views at all. I think it's totally fine bc people do mass stream and that does fuck with the monetary incetives that YouTube actually has to cash out. The reason that doesn't happen to western artist is simply that e.g. Ariana Grande is still without a doubt a lot more known than a Blackpink and therefore there's more hype around her persona. So I actually do believe that on those videos there are many more individual people watching, simply because they're curious, rather than making a streaming-competition out of it.

The only thing that I do find weird is the deleting of likes, because that really does seem a little strange to me. However, I'm still thinking that might just be a bug. After all, what is more important than YouTube is the girls charting #1 on iTunes in 30+ countries. Because that's something you can't fake.

actually you are right ! btw its possible YT will delete even more views, BTS also had that, right.

Overall the comeback was successful, even with the weird 00:00 KST release, made charting in SK really awkward.
