What are some misconceptions that people make about you IRL?

- If someone looks at my full name before they've seen me in person or seen a photograph of me then they mistakenly assume that I am British Asian due to the fact that I have a English sounding first name but my surname is my wife's Japanese family name.

- When people look at me they assume that I am around 21/22. So they are always shocked when I tell them that I am actually 28.

it's at least a partial misconception
people online have tended to assume i'm a girl, at least they did initially
people usually also assume my voice is very different than it is lol

alot of things... It varies considering how and when they meet me... Usually I get the whole you look young thing... Which is a little bit annoying since sometimes people assume my son is my little brother...=_=

but it ranges from shy to intimidating, nice to evil... Although none of these are necessarily wrong.
the only other thing is people not really knowing what my mix is... The Black part they tend to get but are never specific..cause apparently being black is all the same 😒...
Otherwise there a host of guesses, when they can simply ask... Although people come like they've never heard of philippines before..🙄 they be Asian too you know...

people assume i’m older then I am due to my voice

you already know the stereotypes of being a black African American woman, so I get assumed that i’m ghetto, loud, and messy when i’m the exact opposite. People even assume where I live due to my voice. Once they hear i’m Togolese they think that my family was poor and we don’t know how to cook with a stove.

People also think i’m mean and intimidating but once you get to know me, i’m nice

hmm I guess a misconception about me is people often think I don’t care. bc I dont express my emotions to ppl often. I keep everything to myself and I overthink a lot which ppl dont realize.
Also im very observant I always know when something is up with someone but no one ever expects that I know lol

In real life people have assume that I'm between the age of 14-16 when I'm actually 22. Growing up I've also had people assume that I didn't like them or want to get to know them but in reality I'm actually really shy. Some people have thought that I was always sad or something when I actually just don't smile a lot.

Online I've had people assume that I was a bit rude. I actually just sound more blunt when I type. That's why I ended up adding "lol" or something to my posts so that people don't think I'm rude or anything.

To be fair, I can see why but I’m actually not like that at all. It’s just easier to be like that.

Well I have RBF so that gets me the usual misconceptions but it did create a funny moment where I was walking one day and a guy said "cheer up mate it's not the end of the world" which annoyed me cause I was fine so I responded "I wish it was" and he got mad immediately.
