Jenna's is closer to the original show and comics but I guess I'm just too used to Christina Ricci's. Jenna is amazing as Wednesday don't me wrong but she's a lot more human, which is kinda weird

I remember watching Family Addams when I was a kid, but i don't necessarily remember that Wednesday that much and when i saw they were going to release a series all about her i didn't want to watch it again bc i knew i would compare it unconsciously kkkk but i get what you mean.

I liked it, but I didn't love it. Here are some of my thoughts

Spoiler: Click this if you've watched Wednesday

- I found the monster element a bit ?? the CGI was early 00s. They could've easily made it the same character as a deranged murderer hellbent on destroying Nevermore for their mother.
- Casting choices are true to the comics rather than the most iconic iteration which was a decision that was risky but it didn't seem to matter.
- Jenny Ortega gave a different Wednesday than Cristina Ricci but still one that is amongst the best film adaptations.
- The love interest plots for Wednesday conflict with her initial statements and they NEVER addressed it.
- I hate the trend towards this CW crap TV. I liked the first season of Riverdale (come at me idc) & I loved the first two seasons of Sabrina, but this overall aesthetic is becoming a bit dated and rather than being new as it was in the 10s it causes Wednesday to look as if it was filmed, produced, and released around 2016.
- Jenny Ortega has received a lot of praise for being the "first" Latino adaption of Wednesday, but I was always under the impression that the orginial character was Latino considering Gomez has been portrayed in many adaptions as being stereo-typically Cuban American.
- I found there to be a few plotholes but none that were glaring

Recently we had this new "sensation" from Netflix called Wednesday and tbh I loved the series. I think Netflix has a great opportunity here in really exploring her world and with the right moves create an epic series!!!

Wednesday was phenominal. Her sense of humor is perfection.
