Just like with kids hating books because of school, kids hate running because of school. It's honestly quite liberating. But forcing kids to run an arbitrary amount just because a mile sounds neat and tidy is never a good thing.

Good thing my teacher understands bc he doesnt want us running when its so hot outside bc it can be bad for us.

to me the wording is not I'm so lucky that I only have to run once a month but rather "you only get to run" which implies you would do it if you could more
