I need help... (3 Viewers)

What should I do this weekend? (Friday night-Saturday). I have so many options considering that everything I'm interested in decided to be during the same weekend. 😫
And please don't say "just do whatever you want" before giving me an actual suggestion!

I probably have the social capacity for one of them and I probably can't do anything on Sunday or next week.

Here are my choices:
1. See my high school's fall play: Murder on Orient Express (I guess it's like CLUE)
Pros:

• My school's theater only does 2 productions a school year (a play in October and a musical in April) so this may be my only chance to see this one.
• Last fall play as a high schooler
• Multiple showtimes (Friday @7pm, Saturday @2pm and @7pm)
• Would be supporting something I care about and they've worked really hard on this

Cons:

• These productions are typically 3 hours long, not including intermission. It's a long time to sit, for sure
• I could make it up by going to the one in the spring and to the ones in the future (they aren't only for high schoolers to attend, but for teachers, friends/family of cast/crew and the GP)

2. Watch Five Nights at Freddy's movie in theaters w/ friend(s) and brother
Pros:

• Could do something fun before/after, possibly in the local area (downtown) and later head to the theater
• Been wanting to see this movie and it could be a lot of fun

Cons:

• Will also be released on Paramount+ simultaneously and won't last only a weekend in theaters so we have plenty of time to watch it

3. Go to Haunted House w/ friend(s) and maybe brother
Pros:

• Could be fun and it's what a friend originally asked me to do
• I've never been to a Haunted House
• Both local haunted houses will stop operating after October 31 (next Tuesday). So it's either now, sometime before then, or we have to wait until next year

Cons:

• I don't celebrate Halloween (per my family's rules so they may not allow me)
• I'm a chicken (wouldn't be so bad since I will most likely be with someone)
• There's always next year

4. Go to a local geeky convention for anime, video games, show, and comic book fans (has a lot of people who were involved in the U.S. version of Sailor Moon and someone who worked on some very famous horror films)
Pros:

• Could be very fun and interesting to see costumes and meet new people
• I have a few friends that may be interested in going
• Doesn't have to be all that we do, we could probably do what we want to and then leave and do something else if we got bored.
• Only one day while most conventions are all weekend
• Has a Sailor Moon concert, which I love

Cons:

• $30 simply for admission, not including merch, photo ops and fansign fees
• I don't really see anyone or anything that I want to meet/do among the guest/event list
• I've been to so many comic cons that going to this smaller one wouldn't even phase me
• There's always next year, if I don't decide to go to something bigger

This is my current ranking of how much I would want to do these things (I may do one or two depending on how much time/energy I have):

I think it would be but I have been to a lot of these that are a lot bigger in Kansas City and Dallas but I live in a place where it would be a lot smaller. The good thing is that it's like 10 minutes away from where I live. Bad thing? Is that it's 10 minutes away from where I live LOL

But these are a lot of fun!
Until you felt like you saw everything. Most of it is just merch anyway.

• Will also be released on Paramount+ simultaneously and won't last only a weekend in theaters so we have plenty of time to watch it

1. tbh if you wanted to do a make-up thing for this if you didn't do it, you could invite friends over for a night in the house or smth to stream it like a family movie so this isn't the kind of "do-or-die" thing.

Verdict: easily make-up-able. It could be very rewarding but it has good second chances so this one can be saved for l8r

Verdict: Personally I wouldn't go tbh my nerves wouldn't stand it. But this isn't about me! There's next year, so this one has a good second chance too, based on circumstances, and it could be a fun experience with friends! Be safety first though!

I'm just going to give the verdict: It's a solid option! Safety first as well. but I'd keep your third Pro's point in mind! Conventions can get boring sometimes and so when you guys agree to do smth else, be sure to have a backup plan ready if you do go!

LMAO that sounds like the best dream except that's not really an option for me. It's either go out with friends and/or brother or by myself or spend time with my family the whole day (which I usually do on Sundays)

My alone chill time, especially on the weekends, is before everyone gets up and after everyone "retires for the night" (goes to their respective bedrooms and do their own thing) LOL

This is such an amazing answer! I didn't expect anyone to go to such an in-depth length to help me decide! I appreciate the extra effort so much (even though all of the answers so far are so good).

And I'm still not sure about the haunted house. It could be very possible that my parents allow me to go but after getting through that barrier, it would definitely be that I'm not strong-willed at all and almost cried during the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World and I can't stand VR, even pancake game, horror experiences! If I did go, I would definitely go with someone. There would be no other way LOL

For the planning while going to see FNAF, I've had times where I've literally just planned as we go with my friends. We were slated to hang out but we didn't really have a specific place to go so we just thought of restaurants we could eat at or places we could go that was cheap LOL. So I'm thinking that we could walk around downtown and then see the movie (or go around downtown after). AND the great thing is that the theater is a dine-in theater where you order restaurant-level food, and they bring it to you! It's pretty cheap too and I would say that their food is pretty decent. Not the best ever but still very convenient and good enough. And I could stream it so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Yeah, the play would be a good chunk of the day. Which is why I would either go to the Friday night showtime or the Saturday afternoon one. I went to the play last year because it was based off of Harry Potter from the Hufflepuff perspective and they went on their own adventure. It was good but I was wanting to get out of there by intermission time.

And yep! I went to a local convention that wasn't very big with friends that was actually comic con for about 2 hours and then after we did everything we wanted, we went to eat at a local restaurant. It really wasn't that much to do after a while. And this one is definitely going to be even smaller.

For this one I have a lot of love and appreciation for plays and things like that! So I really think going to that would be a lot of fun! It’s always better to go with somebody cause it will be more enjoyable if you have somebody to go with imo

I would also recommend this option heavily since it’s only for a few days (right?) and then you may not be able to see it again, so I really hope you go see it



FNAF
As a die hard fnaf fan, I have been a fan of this franchise since the second game, so legit 9 years yes I’m aware that fnaf 2’s 9th birthday isn’t till November!😂 so for you to go see it would mean a lot to me If you watch it you may just get into the franchise

However about the con, the issue I have with it streaming the same day as the cinema release day is that people would want to watch it at home, I can understand if people can’t make it to the movies but then that looses out on revenue for movie theaters to make at the box office, I highly recommend going to the theater to see it, you can not only sit with the general audience but with the fans too, we have been waiting 8 years for this movie so it will be a surreal experience for fans cause trust me, since we had official news that the movie was being dropped this year, we’ve been promoting it like hell

the fnaf movie is a special experience that can’t be repeated and replicated, so I really strongly suggest going to see it (especially in theater, but I understand if you can’t and respect if you can’t)



Convention
I’ve never been to a convention, I’ve always wanted to go to one🥲 but tbh it sounds like a fun way to spend Halloween! (Again going with a friend always makes it more fun!) but if nothing is to your interest there then maybe not go


Haunted House
A classic way to do things! All I gonna say is make sure it’s worth the money, make sure it’s good and not cheesy😁 again going with friends is the best option!
