Do you think this might be a new era for Twice sound-wise?
What I mean by that is,
Starting from around Formula of Love, their b-sides in particular leaned really hard into disco. That album was dominated by really thick, funky basslines.
And they sort of kept that sound for a lot of the stuff that followed.

But none of these songs around like that. The common thread seems to be 80s, synth pop in particular but even a touch of new wave. Obv. there's outliers (Rush has the sugary, Pinkpantheress liquid dnb that's popular rn).
What I love about I Got You and You Get Me in particular is how openly emotional and sentimental they sound. Very 80s teen movie. Love this sound for Twice. If any retro sound suits them, it's this. Maybe it can stick around for a couple years. Hope so.

The last Twice release I liked from beginning to end is Feel Special, so I'm with you.
I'm really positive from this teaser, like you said "nostalgic happy" sound. Hopefully everyone can enjoy it... I know most fans didn't enjoy the older stuff as much as the post-More and More sound, but maybe Twice have found a way to please both sides.
I think, in comparison to everything else being released nowadays it sounds very fresh, and very far removed from anything that is "trendy" in either east or west. It's classic, timeless. And, I would think, universal, but probably I'd be wrong lollol
