Honestly i don't like most of 5th gen...
It's just not as interesting to me as the other generations. plus everyone is younger than me now


i also don't like it when idols sing in cursive 😭😭 that's why i don't stan purple kiss. I like some of their songs, but then theres others that are super cursive!!
also minnie sings in cursive, but i still listen to gidles music


i feel like this is kinda mean so i'll share something that i like that most people don't, as well (you don't have to do this)
i like it when idols come to the u.s. and start acting different. Like some of them will swear, yell out random things, maybe even twerk on stage, and hold up pride flags. But i feel like it just shows that they're more comfortable with us international fans! and they know that we don't care 😭😭

temporary groups. I like ZB1's music but I don't wanna stan cuz they'll disband anyways.

visuals > talent. I mean, it's clear that in the recent years, idols get picked for visuals over talent. And as much as people deny it, companies will continue to do so because most hype comes from visuals. Even if they're talented, companies will always pick with visuals in mind.
And it gets worse with AI-dols.

seriously!! i've seen people say "but they want to market to younger audiences so it's logical that they pick younger idols!" like.. 8 year old me was vibing with ddu du ddu du and they were all over 18

Survival shows. Many were proven to be rigged. Plus the way participants are treated is pretty gross. Also it's all about popularity and beauty over talent.

Lip sync. No live singing. I think most people dislike it but the problem a lot of people will say "but it is live" when in reality most "live" performances are pre-recorded or they're using mics that correct their pitch in real time (similar to autotune). Kpop fans can't tell the differences anymore. No, breathing in the mic is NOT proof of live singing. They're really fooling y'all.

Debuting minors. Unfortunately I don't think it will be gone anytime soon...

for real. Even then, training so long is not healthy for minors, especially with the pressures on visuals.
But at least trainees are still shielded mostly from the public opinion

Same I feel weird. I love NewJeans music a lot but I felt so weird when my friend gifted me their album for Christmas. I don't want to have photocards of minors 😭😭
