It's almost impressive how bad it is across the board? The waste of talent is on display.I cannot find anything nice to say about this![]()
I saw on Reddit that the song was originally a joke TikTok that a producer (Alice) made with The Chainsmokers in 2023. So it makes more sense with that context (like they're poking fun at writing songs for other musicians), but it's like HYBE didn't understand that it's supposed to be played as a 20 second joke or bother to update any of the lyrics to make more sense in 2025, sung by a group who buys songs.Opening a song with boba tea, tesla, and fried chicken.
'Making dumb beats for a boring dumb bitch'
Are we sure this isn't a youtube parody song?![]()
KATSEYE had a major concept change and the song is not good for Koreans....![]()

Nah but touch was popular here so I thought maybe this too....I don't think katseye and this song is targeted towards Koreans
Side tangent but I have no idea what audience Katseye is marketing to. I've been assuming that they were always going for the western market but it seems like much of the fanbase are existing kpop fans? Idk if it's intentional or not though. And it's funny how u guys say, "it's not a good comeback for koreans" , i haven't seen much positive reviews from international fans either?
No worries, yeah i don't know what their targer or agenda was either. Many say it's "to grab attention" ?Side tangent but I have no idea what audience Katseye is marketing to. I've been assuming that they were always going for the western market but it seems like much of the fanbase are existing kpop fans? Idk if it's intentional or not though.
Marketing for in the kpop industry is less about the music, more about the members which I think if this song was sung by a traditional kpop group could maybe pass by a few international fans' ears. But the fact that it is in English with such disgusting lyrics (not in a content way necessarily, but come on guys) just means no English listener will take kindly to gnarly anyways. If Hybe wants Katseye to stay within the Kpop sphere, then they'll recover fine. If they want to push them further Western, then this may be a deal breaker.
Sorry about quoting and all lol your comment just set me off
I keep seeing that argument too, but it seems so nonsense to me. "Noise marketing" only means anything if it translates into actual sales. And I'm not seeing any talk going "Huh, because this song is so bad, I'm now going to buy this album."Some ppl online say it's a "pr move" for more attention on the girls. And to that i want to say .... Is the pr move to lose the fans that come for "Touch"? It's not the worst song ever, i can watch it for shits and giggles, but idk if it would end up in my playlist.
