Is there any comment strangers make to you often when you first meet them or just casually that you dislike and always hate to hear?

For me, people tell me I sound like I'm from the South. Well, I'm not from the South, I've never even been there, and I dont hear it in my own voice. I dont think Southern accents are great either. So whenever someone tells me I sound like their country ass relative from the south I cringe and something inside me curls up and dies

I also hate when people hear my name and ask me what does it mean. Does anyone ask girl named Jenny, Lucy, Tara, Keisha, Maria, or Megan "What does that name mean?" No. So why does my name supposedly need to have a meaning when no one elses does?

Lastly, there are a few female celebrities I'm often told I look like and they are all on the very unattractive side. So that's a real day ruiner.

What about you? Any recurrent insults that I guess aren't meant to be insults?

When people ask about my nationality and heritage. It bothers me, Because why is such a big deal, hundreds of times over and also if they say I have 'tanned skin

I always found that wording offensive and I prefer olive, if they were going to be polite about it.

omg yes. yes, this is the kinda cringe stuff i hate. why do people feel its ok to say this stuff? its not ok
i would never dream of saying this stuff to people but for other people it just pops out of their cake hole without a thought

Peeps are far too nosy nowadays.
Which is why I keep my thoughts to a bare minimum, when talking about myself

what do you say when they ask? because like for me i dont enjoy discussing my nationality/race, because usually things get said that offend me. so if someone brings it up at all i usually change the subject immediately that is a no-go zone

I just say I'd rather not discuss it.
Because like you, to me they make offensive comments too.

I did put my heritage on here via profile.
But that's ok for me, because it's for my benefit mostly.

Yeah. I dont have a lot of things i wont tell someone about me but i dont trust people not to be rude about certain things so until i know them well i wont have certain convos

when i was younger i was really quiet so I got "youre so quiet" a lot. they always wanted me to talk more. but then when I would speak no one listened lmfao so i went back to being quiet lol

i'm literally on youtube trying to figure out how to lose this accent. i think it would be funny if i just started speaking in a british accent from now on. i mean why not? i'm not southern and i have that accent so why not just trade to a fake accent that i like better? lol
