how do you come up with stories? (1 Viewer)

i mean usually for me i start out two or three ways.

1. i daydream. I'll daydream a scenario, and then ill create a whole story around it. so the other day I daydreamed a scene where I wasn't able to fall asleep comfortable so yugyeom just kinda gently patted my face until I could and so then I decided to make a story because of that one scene.

2. I'll listen to music and when looking at the lyrics I want to make a story around it. For example, I was listening to Crossroads by Gfriend and I was like "hey you know this would make a good story about a journey to debut" and so I started writing that.

3. actually doesn't happen often but I'll have a really interesting dream completely finished- like I woke up at the resolution. so then I'll make that into a story. It's only happened twice before. I wrote a story about kisses with yugyeom because of it and I wrote a hanahaki story about that too.

Definitely #1 and #2. I daydream a lot, and I have plenty of time to make up stories since my work commute is about 3.5-4 hours in a single day. However, the only time I can listen to music is when I'm in the car. I just can't do it otherwise. I also take a lot of inspiration from animes/dramas I'm watching. For example, I'm 100+ episodes deep into Naruto right now and I think up new characters that would be cool to introduce to the already established ones in the series, and create arcs in my head for them.

Ahh, in terms of music I generally follow themes and not direct lyrics. That's one of the reasons I fell in love with KPOP - it made me feel without the need to understand.

Ahh, in terms of music I generally follow themes and not direct lyrics. That's one of the reasons I fell in love with KPOP - it made me feel without the need to understand.

i just have this thing about following the lyrics same with if I write something based off another story. I'm writing a gatsby au for got7 but I'm stuck on it because it HAS to be similar even if I know it doesn't have to be

Oh no!! Nightmares are so awful. I get a lot too, but I think it depends on my mood. Have you tried writing down your bad dreams? I know it helps sometimes to write them down but change the endings or outcomes so it's more positive and could go away/change. Also helps you dream more in general, too, which is good for writing ideas.

Anyway, #2 is a great idea! Actually, I've already written a short story (one-shot) based on a song I like (it's in my thread Song Inspired One Shots). But unlike @Daiisy I'm definitely a lyrics kinda girl. I'm hard of hearing, so I don't always understand what they're singing, even if in English.

Oh no!! Nightmares are so awful. I get a lot too, but I think it depends on my mood. Have you tried writing down your bad dreams? I know it helps sometimes to write them down but change the endings or outcomes so it's more positive and could go away/change. Also helps you dream more in general, too, which is good for writing ideas.

I used to go off vibe but when bts came out with house of cards I didn't lean towards that again. house of cards is generally seen by ifans as the thot song but the lyrics are actually really sad and so now I try to capture the actual lyric's message

so it was this girl trapped in like this little encircling or broken down cttge (idr) in bushes and trees and vines or smth. there's an evil spirit telling her that if she follows his instructions perfectly she will be allowed to escape. but if she messes up she dies. she keeps trying but keeps messing up and he gives her a bunch of tries. it goes on and each time his instructions get eviller and eviller.

finally she asks for one more chance, and he tells her to eat a femur bone (????) without breaks. she is so tired at this point she fails when she had like 7 bites left and it turns out the bone was filled with water? blood? and she dies

its prolly not exactly the movie or whatever, but I sWEAR its actually vaguely familiar
