I wanna buy ice cream and the kind I like is strawberry crunch/strawberry cheesecake but the youngest in my family is allergic and I wouldnt wanna feel like everyone else in the house can get ice cream and like I intentionally excluded him. But at the same time I feel like he can just deal with it being excluded because there wont always be that many people to include him in every recreational activity involving food. But he is my little brother and we dont get ice cream often so I still feel a pull toward including him. There are others I can get but a lot are a bit more expensive per unit and in general

communication is key my friend

why not just ask him that you want to buy a special strawberry crunch/strawberry cheesecake food and that even though he might be allergic to it that it is something just for you and that there will be further occasions where he or she can get his or her fav cheescake?

It is not your obligation to satisfy everyone else with every decision you make and you have every right to get the ice cream you like, I know it's a hot take these days but you (and everyone else) should put themselves first when it is not at the expense of someone else. We are the only ones who can keep ourselves safe and happy and we owe it to ourselves.

That's does not mean you can not also care for others and sharing is caring, if you however share with all but one person within your group/family you are indeed a "prick" as you put it but thankfully there's an easy solution, you either A) share with nobody or B) share with everybody and get something different for your little brother.

If you are a younger person without a steady income then getting your own money is hard and you should not feel guilty for getting the thing you really like and keep it for yourself, I would expect you to. Your family will be fine without ice cream but your little brother might not be fine feeling excluded because of something he has no control over.
