What are your green flags in a relationship/friendship? (1 Viewer)

- Respectful
- Gives the benefit of the doubt to everybody
- Honest
- Has a good sense of humor
- Notices when something's wrong with you
- Not embarrassed to be hanging out with you

That's all off the top of my head

when they bonk on your head constantly while stanning JYPappi
when you can call them BS to their face
when you can continually stroke their delusions while trying to roast them
when they constantly change their usernames (with and without telling you)
when they not only encourage but stand up for you rights as the AESTHETIC PRO OF THE YEAR
when yOu WRitE lIKe THis AnD tHEY COmpLeTeLY UNderStAnD ThE rEasONs WHY

Some of these feel like the basic stuff someone needs to even be considered for a relationship

Not that I'd date since I'm aroace but these would be my green flags

-Being gifted things for no reason other than that it will make me happy
-Adds to the conversation just as much as me and gives their own thoughts
-Communicates their feelings well
-Thinks and forms their own opinion on something rather than following what others believe
-Keeps the little random stuff I give (I keep everything of a gift or a special time because it will eventually hold memories of that day, like pretty wrapping paper, a ribbon, a chocolate cover, a flower)

Look at how someone treats animals when no one is around, that says all about their nature and how they would treat you if nothing stood in their way.

Idk, someone could treat animals well and see humans as different and still treat others badly or not have good social and relationship skills

I think that treatment of animals exposes a persons true nature - i.e a sadistic person would be cruel, a good heart would be kind and a controlling person would treat them like toys. This is irrespective of social skills and there could be extenuating circumstances (such as past trauma) which alters a persons behaviour but that is rarely the case when it comes to the small and easily exploited, imo, if you are cruel to such a creature you are malicious - plain and simple. (Now if someone is afraid of dogs because they got bit that's obviously different)

When it comes to people kind to animals but not to humans it's almost always the result of human induced trauma and I believe they still have a good heart and are a "green flag", it's just going to take some patience to break through that protective layer.

I would say mine are:
-shared values and beliefs
-respectful to you and others
-clear boundaries
-honesty
-willingness to listen
-kind and caring
-able to communicate/have tough conversations
