ExWHYZ disbanded yesterday after 4 year of activities which turn to 9 if you count their time as EMPiRE, i got into J idols right before their debut so yeah they are the idol group i've been following the longest and also my favorite, as a final surprise they unveiled a final song along a final MV for "光" which was also the title of the final concert
they had an amazing career, back when they were EMPiRE they did the OP and ED themes for BLACK CLOVER, Fairy Tail, High Rise Invasion and sell out the Makuhari Messe Hall, as ExWHYZ they accomplished their dream of playing in the Budokan and had the uncanny ability to sell out all their tours, they are a group that never had to play to an empty house, as people they are a really interesting group, they have amazing visuals, sharp choreos and mayu and maho are top tier singers but they themselves are very laid back and chill for example their last album went out last week but they still were working and writting songs for by early August and if you asked them if they were going to make it in time they would just tell you "well manage somehow lol"
and their live shows have been turning into a mix of live bands, EDM raves, VJ sets, etc very unique and fun, sucks to see them gone because the reason they are disbanding it's not even related to the group but because their parent company WACK (who gave us BiSH and BiS) wants to pivot to international markets and wants to move management, production and even staff to the UK and they simply announced that all existing groups in the label have to disband before the end of 2026, a stupid idea if you ask me but that's a whole other story
