A lot of stuff, where do I even begin? Okay, the first Stray Kids song I ever heard was God’s Menu. I was watching this one K-Pop YouTuber who was reacting to BLACKPINK, and he asked who he should react to next, and it felt like literally half of his entire comment section was tell him to check out Stray Kids and more specifically God’s Menu. My curiosity got the better of me, and I had never heard of the group or song before, but could tell it was K-Pop, so I looked it up. At first, I thought the song was good, but not great. Then Chan’s singing part in the pre-chorus came on, and I fell in love with his voice. Of course I didn’t know it was him at the time since I knew literally nothing about the group, but still. All I knew was I loved the voice of whoever sang that part, and to this day, it’s still my favorite part of that song, partially because of how good he sounds, and partially for sentimental reasons.

Well, some time passed and as great as the song was, I didn’t really check out too many more songs from them, not sure why. But, in the past, I had a big MBTI phase, and I’m still into it a bit, but I digress. I am an ENFJ, and was curious which idols had the same personality type as me. I figured it would be fun to stan someone who was the same type as me. I go onto personality database, look up ENFJ K-Pop idols, and I see quite a few results. Most of them I decide not to do, for reasons like their group has too many members and I think it would be too much work to get into them because of that, there’s too much debate around what type they are, so I’m not positive they even are one and a variety of stuff like that. Obviously none of which the idols can control nor is it their fault, but still.

After considering my list of options for a few minutes, I settled on choosing Bang Chan. It says he’s from Stray Kids, but me and my bad memory don’t put two and two together for a long time that that’s the group who made God’s Menu, or that he was the one whose singing I loved.

One of the first things I did after choosing him was to learn more about him, and what his personality is like. One thing I saw pop up frequently is his comforting words compilations, which I started watching almost religiously. It made me happy to see how much love he truly has for other people, and the things he said would help me feel better, even if I wasn’t feeling bad in the first place.

I then learned more about him beyond that. How funny he is. How many idol friends he has. How he is friends with Lisa, who he met through BamBam. How long and hard he trained for. How much he cares about the kids. His weekly Chan’s Room lives. It was like the more I learned about him, the more I liked him. Sure, there were a few hiccups (I still don’t understand the all black clothing aesthetic, but I can appreciate it), but most of it was very minor stuff that’s barely worth mentioning, and doesn’t really bother me all that much.

As time went on, because of watching so much Chan stuff, YouTube figured out my new Stray Kids obsession and showed me stuff from the other members, and I fell in love with them too. Felix became my first bias wrecker, and I loved the bond that he and Chan have. Then Lee Know became my bias wrecker as well (he even almost became my bias at one point and was dangerously close to passing Chan), and most recently IN became my bias wrecker. I of course do like all the members though, I’d have to be crazy not to. They’re just all so love able.

Anyway, kind of a long story, but that’s how I got into Stray Kids, and why he became my bias. What about you?

that's too cute!! it's like he was meant to be your bias from the start :taeilsob::taeilsob:

well i guess it all started out when i got into stray kids. i heard about them but didn't really check them out. at the time i was mainly only into bts and blackpink but then i decided, why not check them out? i put their music on shuffle on spotify and school life decided to play which is crazy because i was actually struggling with school at the time so i searched up the translation and i just related so hard to it. after that i wanted to listen to more stuff by them so i listened to miroh and absolutely fell in love. i'm really bad with names and faces so no particular member really caught my eye but as i started listening to more of their music and watching more of their content i just got so invested in them all. i later found out about chan's room and would watch it on and off.

i fell in love with chan's personality and his way with words really comforted me. i fell deeper into their music, searching for translations of songs and just really interpreting the lyrics into my life. just like you, i would watch many bang chan comfort compilations etc etc and just fell in love with how he genuinely loves stay, and the way he is always there for the members.

i began to really look up to him. i wanted to become a better person, a better friend. so i'm ever grateful to chan for helping me change who i am into a better version of myself.

and even though i'm not good with words and i get mad easily and i have other flaws, i've learned to accept my flaws because of a short australian man that i have fallen in love with :nekolove:

It is!

Okay, your story made me melt from happiness. I’m sure if Chan ever heard it, he’d be really proud of you and really happy. Actually, this reminds me, I’m working on a SKZOO painting where they’re on a school bus (you bringing up school is what reminded me). When I finish it, I’ll have to show you.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really watch Chan’s Room itself as much as I probably should. I just watch clips of it on YouTube to save time. It’s been a real life saver though, and I’m sure he’d understand and not really mind, so no big deal.

And you know what? You having issues is perfectly okay, and admitting to having them even more so. I have so many of my own I probably lost count. For example, I am sensitive and get hurt easily, hold grudges for a long time, always insist that I’m right and everyone else is wrong and more. Yet, as long as we’re both trying to improve, that’s all that really matters.

Edit: forgot to mention it’s a diamond painting, not an actual painting. I can’t paint to save my life. Sticking gems on a sticky sheet is much more doable.

(sorry if my replies are late but i'm doing an assignment)

i would definitely want to see your skzoo painting when it's done!! i bet it's gonna be adorable :)

i used to always try to watch chan's room but recently with so much overload of things to do i haven't had the time but yes i do also watch clips of them.

i'm glad that we're both learning to accept ourselves and grow! so glad that we have so many similarities :D

Don’t apologize for that, so your assignment. I can always wait.

It is! It’s so pretty. I’m less than halfway done and it’s ahuge one, soI’ve got a ways to go still.

Hey, clips is better than nothing. And you’re already better than me, I never even tried to tune in.

Me too! I didn’t expect to meet someone on here so similar to me, but I’m certainly not complaining one bit.
