yeap it's usually meant to make fun of idol actresses and actors since they often are lacking when it comes to acting and the only reason they are in a drama in the first place is because of their looks

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO you stan them as idols first or you later find out they're idols while you're watching their drama. And then you look them up on MDL and watch all their stuff also my ult is an idol-actor so if you see Cha Hakyeon in a drama, WATCH IT, IT'S GOTTA BE GOOD!

I am absolutely gob smacked at how you have only seen one kdrama.... I don't have that much self control. I'd give you recommendations but you like historical cdramas and I like romance and Cha Hakyeon. Perhaps our tastes are a bit muddled... But I will recommend you to check out MDL again here's a drama that Hakyeon is in https://mydramalist.com/30967-red-moon-blue-sea I have no clue why the url says red moon blue sea when the title is Children of Nobody ??? O.O ??? but anyway this is not a romance, it's a thriller/mystery and I liked it.

well you know that I'm Chinese right? so if I had a preference between something Chinese vs something Korean I would pick a Chinese drama to watch (if that makes sense) I can understand the language and culture and everything without resorting to subtitles

I think it's because I'm older and married that romance dramas even generally don't really capture my attention as much (or maybe the fact that I'm a dude!!!)

That does make more sense, unfortunately I'm American so everything I watch has to have subtitles and whatnot. I do envy you bc it's hard to understand certain things without being involved in a culture.
