Hihi! Doing okay. I'm watching Arcane this morning and trying to get out of a funk. Not really sure what it is, but been feeling melancholy the past few days.

I'm sorry you feel that way Centen, is there anything we can do for you to feel a little less melancholy? Did anything interesting happen in season 2?

I'm fine, a little drained, because school is boring and feels like a waste going to school half the time. Other then that I'm just plain ol' me hahaha

Thank you friend. I think I'll be okay. Too much time in my own head lately, you know? I think I might decorate for Christmas finally and see if I can be more present (no pun intended).

So far, it's hard to watch! Like it's just so emotional with how everything ended, so it's maybe not the best choice for today lol, but I promised a friend I'd give them my thoughts on it. They're dying to discuss it with someone!

Ugh, I get that feeling! Will there be a break for school soon, that you can look forward to?

I get it, the weather isn't helping either (unless you live somewhere tropical, in that case... Do you need a maid or something?) Decorating seems like a good idea, are there any decorations you enjoy putting up?

I wish I lived somewhere tropical! It's "tropical" being, like 50 here today, but it's a one-day thing before it cools back off. You're probably right that's it, cold weather and gray skies is always a bit depressing.

I have a couple small Christmas trees (like 3' if that) that I put around so I can turn on the lights in any room, a string of lights to go in my front window, and a larger fake tree. I grew up always having real trees, so I'd prefer that, but I don't have any way to go get one and bring it home. I also ordered an ornament display thing this year, because I have some glass ornaments I made that I'm afraid to put on my fake tree, but I want a way to enjoy them. Do you do any decorating?

It's funny... at the end of season 1, I was totally team Vi and Caitlyn, and I'm sure it's because we can see what's going on with them so much more. But I'm three episodes into season 2, and I'm like... but how much did Vi even try to understand who her sister was now? And the scene with Silco was really touching actually, and I feel a ton more sympathy for Jinx who's been constantly pushed into hard situations by people she should be able to trust.

Oh, nice! That'll be a decent stretch at the end of the year to relax and recover. I am out of school these days, so I just get whatever PTO I've saved up. My company is a "use it or lose it" with the PTO, so December is very boring with so many people being out. What are you going to school for?

Yes!! You wake up and it's dark, then you go to lunch and it's gray, then you go home and it's darker then before... I need summer back ASAP!!

That's cool. Why would nobody want to help you get a tree? What colors are the lights you put up? And to answer your question, no. I don't decorate, I'm Muslim so I'm not supposed to do that but I do like to see other people decorate. It makes the dark times cozy.

Yeah, Jinx her story arc is really sad. I think Vi her character shows how much we are willing to sweep under the rug even at the expense of people we care about.

I'm enrolled in law school, because I was doing so much research for my story on laws I might as well get a degree that says I in fact know what the hell I'm talking about. What do you do for work?

Ah, I live alone! So it's all on me to do or not do everything. Pros and cons. I like the multi-colored lights that flicker!

Do Muslims have a winter holiday that you celebrate? I'm not religious, but I grew up in a family that did Christmas, so I still like the lights and such.

Yes! It's easy to see how Vi and Cait arrived at the decisions they did, but man, do they let the situation control their values.

I try to take at least one day off each month, but I haven't had a vacation where you go off somewhere in a few years. There's a local women's only outdoor club that went to Mexico last year to track the monarch migration and the photos look so magical, I kinda want to do it! How about you, any traveling or on hold until after graduation?

Oh, law school + writing will be a great combo! I always liked the law professors I had. My degree is in economics and I work for a bank. Currently looking elsewhere, as I want to get a full-time remote position and then look at digital nomad visas so I can see more places.

No we don't, we have two annual holidays, but the days on which they are celebrated depends on the moon.

That sounds neat, though! I just finished reading a book about different winter folklore tales from around the world, and it's interesting to learn about other cultures.

Hans Trapp! It's based on a real guy named Hans von Trotha, who was considered "an enemy of the church" (eye roll) and even though the church changed that after he died, his legacy as an ~evil man~ lives on as Hans Trapp. He's said to roam the forests in the area between France and Germany, disguised as a scarecrow, looking for children to punish. Children apparently sing songs to him about how they've been good all year, so that he won't find them and eat them on Christmas Eve. Like an evil precursor to Santa.

It's just wild to me how a real person's story can change so much to have this as their legacy.
