I know, I've not been around a ton outside of dailies. I just feel like I've had a lot of days that have been work, doom scroll, sleep, repeat, you know?
It do be like that. I've been focusing this weekend on stuff that feels harder to do when I'm in a funk, but I know will lift the spirits: making all my meals, hanging out with friends, working out.
It's been mostly for the best!! I'm more tired, but my dog does not have an appreciation that I do not want to be awake at 6:00 on the weekend actually.
Do you have anything cool you've done recently or that you're looking forward to doing soon-ish?
Let's see... I've mostly been trying to get back into a consistent workout schedule again, but this week I'm going to go a pour your own candle place with some friends and participating in a puzzle competition on Saturday with some other people! It's nice for the excuse to get out of the house.
Sorry, I've been ... well, I'd like to say "busy" but really "everything has been taking a significantly longer time period than it should have, so I've been unproductive, but it's taking a lot of time to be so" so whatever that vibe is.
ANYWAY.
A puzzle competition, at least the ones I've all been to, has basically followed these same rules:
Teams of 1-4 people
The puzzle will be between 500 - 1,000 pieces
The puzzles are the same for every team, so they'll be wrapped and when it starts, teams will rip them open at the same time
Time limit of some kind, usually starts at 2 hours but often they'll extend it by up to another hour if no one completes it in the initial time
If no one finishes it after the extension, then they count remaining pieces and whoever has the fewest leftover pieces wins
My team came dead last, but we did finish in under an hour, so honestly, I'm counting it as a win. My personal theory is that some of these teams must be people who doing puzzles is their hobby. Like they hang out weekly and put together puzzles. And we're not that serious.
