and then debut or ?????

do you ever regret being a trainee? like with the dieting and other harshness of life?
Going_Under
Going_Under
Possible debut... we aren't sure yet :(

ALL THE TIME! I hate being a trainee, but I know it will be worth it in the end, so I just have to try to act like the abuse doesn't hurt at all...
S
Selfmate
abuse? wow...you could consider such things abuse?
interesting

if you know what you now know after 4 years of being a trainee - would you still have become a trainee?
Going_Under
Going_Under
Wouldn't you consider people hitting me abuse?

I wouldn't have... I wish i knew what i was going into... i was only 9 years old
Going_Under
Going_Under
not only that but working me so hard to the point i pass out, having to go with out food for days... yeah... abuse
S
Selfmate
damn that's harsh
I've always said that I would never ever let my children become kpop trainees

I mean I'm just a kpop fan and we hear stories every now and then of such abuses but to see an actual person (you) say it and experience it is a totally different thing

that's terrible my friend and like you said (and to my general knowledge) debut is not even a guarantee right? that one would be cut for literally any reason at any time
Going_Under
Going_Under
yup... on the bright side though i get to meet idols sometimes
S

you said all the hardwork and abuse is worth it but would it still be worth it if you didn't debut??? like if they cut you right before ???

that's cool - is it like meet meet and have a conversation or just passing by the corridors? lol
Going_Under
Going_Under
It would still be worth it. so i can tell others what it's really like...

It's more like we pass by in the corridors, they say hi, and then we have a full-on conversation
S

I think that's an impressive mindset for someone who's quite young

anybody that us plebs would know? lol or is that like confidential or something?
Going_Under

I've met Bangchan and Naeyon

I'm 13 turning 14 in a few days... is that young?!?! (you like 40 or something... *GASP* UNC UNC UNC UNC)
S

that's cool - they seem like very nice people on camera at least

I'm old enough to be your father!!! lol
FYI: I am a father of two boys actually

I consider you young my friend

happy early birthday if you get too busy and can't come on KPS

wait how did you manage to convince your family to let you become a trainee if they weren't / aren't into kpop?

I got into kpop in 2019 - it was right before KTL dropped and YT recommended me D4 and I was like hey this has a lot of views so I'll give a wathc

and then bloody hell a bedazzled tank and everything else is history lol
Going_Under
Going_Under
They arent into kpop so they dont know what trainees go through... i literally walked up to them and said "can i become famous?" they said "yeh" and i was like "cool i need you to consent for me" and they were like "cool" um... yeh
S
Selfmate
yeah well I highly doubt they would agree to let you go if they knew what was happening to you....

btw I assume that you aren't korean since your parents don't know kpop what ethnicity are you my friend? (if you aren't comfortable sharing then I apologise in advance)
Going_Under
Going_Under
I'm Australian-Korean...but my parents are REALLY disconnected from the Korean culture
S
Selfmate
hey I'm Chinese Australian

I'm from the west coast where it is easy for me to fly to Singapore to see a kpop act than it is for me to fly over east lol

that's interesting - is that by choice or circumstance? since usally Asian families are pretty close to their Asian heritage and cultures
Going_Under
Going_Under
I don't know... My parents rarely ever mention Koreans lol

I'm curious, is your Australian accent heavy? mine is
