It actually was an accidental diagnosis. I was seeing a therapist through Goodwill to get me placed in a job. I went into an appointment as the therapist walked out. He kept quiet and actually watched how I acted aloof till one of the girls spoke to me and I recognized the voice and came to life.

Then when he got me back he asked me how I saw faces, or rather how I didn't. Then explained to me what prosopagnosia is and I wasn't crazy for not recognizing faces.

I actually used to think that being able to recognize faces was super rare, it was only last year when someone said something about being able to recognize faces and i said that i wasnt that talented and couldnt lol. I only got officially diagnosed a few weeks ago though.

Oddly 5 out of 6 vixx I was actually able to recognize in RL. Which was mind blowing to me. In all my many MANY years of life I never recognized a face. Not even when I saw BB in concert. People are amazed by the fact I can't see faces, I am just as amazed how they can recognize people.

It's a cognitive disorder that amusingly considered a disability. Those who have it we don't see as a disability and it's quite funny to think about it that way. Only inconvenience is people who don't know you to well think you're ignoring them when you're not.

Or you know muttering how they all look the same and watching people getting horrified thinking your being racist. XD PS: I still miscount BTS I just can't see them as 7

DrowningFishy
Do you explain to people what you have or do you keep it quiet?
Ahsoka

Quiet, i usually just have no real reason to, although theres a class im planning to take which has memorizing faces as part of the first test so ill probably need to explain then lol

Advice, BE OPEN ABOUT IT! It'll save so many relationships with people. With people close to you, class mates, co workers and so forth. I kept my diagnosis hidden for over 10 years before I opened my mouth about it. I wish I would have been open about it sooner.

I'll try, it just makes me self concious to say it for some reason
