Let me know if you do! I went back and checked out their debut mini after I got hooked on Cupid. They have a really nice dreamy sound I like.

Agree!! Jiwoo really owned it so much. I'm glad YDS isn't too skewed on the balance too. Hopefully that means people will leave the girls alone for "taking" Jinni's parts or whatever nonsense. I swear, I've never seen so many NSWERs on the other site before there was drama. 🧐

Ha, that's fair! I think they remind me more of FTI purely because I listened to FTI more. Now that you mention it, most of Day6's titles I'm familiar with are kind of melancholy too lol. XH is probably the only idol band I can think of right now that's done all upbeat tracks for their promos, but XH is kind of more punk mixed than the others too.

Omg, Cupid is so freaking good. So is "Higher" and "Tell Me". So thank you for introducing me to them. I really loved the English version of Cupid and understand why it is blowing up on Spotify.

Yeah, I feel like YDS and "Love Me Like This" seem to be way more equal in terms of screen time and line distribution. As much as I love Kyujin, even I know she had A LOT of lines and screen time in comparison to everyone else on Dice. So, it's nice to see the other girls shine too this go round. And, it's interesting how quickly some people become "fans" when it can help to foster negativity.:pepelook:

I'm glad you liked it! The fact that their first two releases have been this kind of dreamy sound and done well for a nugu group makes me hopeful their company will let them stick to that. They stand out by doing their own thing, I think.

Yes! I'm glad they did a performance version, where it's easier to see the fact that the gap between the most and the least lines in YDS isn't that great. I was worried a bit when Bae didn't get quite as many scenes, but it turns out that's the MV editing, not the song distribution itself. I felt so bad for Kyujin getting the blame for that. I mean, part of it is that she's my fave to be completely honest, but the other part is like... Like, you know Soyeon writes (G)I-DLE's titles so she kind of deserves the criticism for giving herself three verses while the other four people get to split the pre-choruses/choruses. Even as a big Nevie, I think all the griping there is completely legit. But Kyujin isn't deciding to push herself, she's not writing the songs or assigning the line distribution or designing the choreo to stick her in front or editing the MVs to give herself the most scenes. Still, I'm glad for her sake that the company seemed to get that she was getting unfairly blamed and leveled things out.

And right?? All the sudden all these Jinni stans when I'm like, "I don't believe you even knew her name a week ago." :susPepe: At least the NSWER community here is more genuinely excited and not like, just getting pretending to be invested so they can gripe lol. I swear I log on each day to at least one new NSWER tag to share a new teaser or photo or something.

KPOPSOURCE
Community-driven since 2018
Our Story
KpopSource began as a small blog called ksource, created by a dedicated K-Pop fan known as @Sourcekeeper. Frustrated by the decline of welcoming, discussion-driven communities, she set out to build something different — a space where fans could talk, connect, and stay for the long term.

Over time, that simple idea grew into the community you see today. While platforms and trends have changed, the goal has remained the same: to give K-Pop fans a place that feels familiar, human, and worth returning to.
