I got into kpop in 2010-2011 but by that time I knew who BoA was through Jpop. When I say BoA was at Namie Amuro level in Japan I meant it, like I thought she was Japanese at first. How many korean artists were singing anime ost at that time? mind you, to sing an anime ost (a very popular one)...

Nope, not in Korea not in Japan. Imagine how big was BoA at her peak that I knew her way back in my Jpop days (2005/06), I was not even listening to Kpop nor was I interested on it and she was at Namie Amuro level in JP.
