Source: Dispatch Dives In — Did BTS's Suga and Big Hit Entertainment Really Know Nothing About Jim Jones?

I didn't find other news in English yet so although it's koreaboo I guess that's the best the currently is. It's from Dispatch article though so should have some credits ^^

The article is pretty long so this is going to be TDLR version since i read it through, but you can also from the source link. Dispatch questions two things: 1. That the producer didn't know the speech was from Jim Jones and didn't know anything what it was about 2. Suga is not a producer in the track.

For the 1st point Dispatch took a look on Splice, which is largest sampling platform in USA and looked into what kind of search terms you need to use to find speech by Jim Jones. His speeches can be found at least with search words "religion" and "jim jones", but not by "speech". The sound files about his speeches all state Jim Jones in the file and are part of following "album" (and i have to say that having album like that with that description is pretty insensitive as well, with "raw character" and "emotionally charged").

So in conclusion it's unlikely that the one who picked the file would been able to do so without at least seeing that the file was part of religious speech and about Jim Jones.

2nd point was about Suga's role as producer. BigHit claimed in their apology that Suga is not the producer, however following info was in the credits of the song, which seem to make BigHit's claim untrue or either the credits untrue.

- Nevertheless it doesn't seem like this scandal will die just yet, especially with Dispatch being involved and coming out with this research. And from the beginning I thought BigHit's apology wasn't the best, and it if turns out it included some lies in behalf of Suga, that's going to be even more problematic for them.

EDIT: Doesn't look like the images work, I can see them while editing but not in the post when I save it. Hopefully the links of them work and if not you can find them in the source.

Yeah I thought this was obvious to everyone but the most delulu ARMY. I find it funny how all their lyrics are about flexing and shitting on haters, but everytime a controversy pops up, they hide behind BigHit statements instead of just issuing a personal apology or taking responsibility.

Atleast this time, most people seem to believe there is no way you stumble on a Jim Jones speech by accident for "aesthetics" unless you know what you're looking for lol. I think there's even a clip of Suga editing parts of it somewhere, although BigHit now claims it was the producer's fault. Which is random af the producer was supposed to be Suga himself before shit went down :lisalaugh:

ARMY: brag about all their members being self producing and self composing, drag other idols for not doing so and call them untalented
Also ARMY: don't you just hate it when the only track Suga did not produce on his self produced mixtape gets into controversy?? :o shook

Dispatch really going in this time lol. Kinda surprising since usually they seem to have good relationship with BigHit.

Shh time to watch everyone question and trash Dispatch now after going along with them all this time :lisalaugh:

Tbh this wouldn't even be that big a deal if Yoongi just took responsibility and apologized. It's this sort of child hiding behind parents behavior that is prolonging this matter :wimwim:

If Suga had written the apology himself it would been received better. I don't rly understand why BigHit and BTS have the tactic of BTS members staying silent and BigHit coming up to apology which usually swifts blame. Especially when BTS is such socially consicious group who is credited of songwriting and producing, it comes of weird.

Yeah esp coz he didn't commit any crime or anything. Sure, it was a stupid thing to do, but a sincere personal apology would've settled this matter in minutes instead of dragging this on. This does make it apparent how much mediaplay BigHit does too tho lol, and that even the most "genuine" images are carefully built by the agency instead of what fans would like to believe.

It's even funnier when the only time I can recall a BTS member apologizing personally was when Jungkook had dating rumors. Priorities lol.

Dispatch has a controversial reputation indeed but I agree, we wouldn't be at this point if BH and Yoongi had been honest and apologized properly.

Yep just apology from him and explanation why it was included and how it was mistake and he will be more careful in the future. The thing would have died down without any interference from dispatch etc. BigHit trying to shield them too much rly backfired.

Yeah eventually the noise dies down due to their extremely huge fandom but Idk why Bighit thinks this is the right strategy. If you really wanna push BTS image as independent artists with creative control, let them also be accountable for their actions instead of trying to shield them and trying to present them as these perfect beings.

The fandom will definitely carry them out of this. But i think their and bighits public image took some hit. They aren't longer seen as squeky clean (but this is also due to jungkook's scandal) and public won't believe BigHit as easily anymore.

It's rly surprising, but i think they got already involved with Jungkook's case so guess BigHit isn't in the no-touch list anymore
