I'm a real sucker for angst, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, misscommunication and so on...
Like i know i shoot myself in the foot , emotionally speaking, but i just get so much happier when things are resolved.

I always like supernatural au's if they're not too weird. Or anything scifi or just not set in reality if that makes sense

For pairings I always love a good enemies to lovers, or situations where they just tolerate each other then love each other

Ph thats so cute too, cause they liked eachother and then SUDDENLY one day something changed. It might be they were alone on a trip after a long time when their friends couldnt make it or the other realizes how thoughtful the other was to them all these years

My favorite fanfiction trope isn't character-based, but setting based. I am a big fan of AU (Alternative Universe) and AT (Alternative Timeline). I like when writers are able to write stories based on a different setting (fantasy, high school, sequel fics related to a show, etc,).

ohhhh i know what u mean. i sometimes enjoy that too, the different circumstances. I've read a fic like that, where the members were a wolf pack, but not the romantic alpha/omega kind. Just ppl that can shift into wolves. One of them was accused of killing someone from his last pack from where they escaped. And in the present he had to go back alone to prove his innocence and to make his team believe in him. It was good, a bunch of territory and pack rules established , and talks about politics that i didnt even expect.

This I agree with if the writer wants to make to a profit from their fanfic. As for me, I rather just stick to writing for myself and have fun. I haven't done a big fanfic in a long time that kept me interested (I prefer one-shot fanfics).

But I think the one I use most is the single mom trope. You know, where she's a single mom looking for a father figure? idk if it's my inner kid lover talking, but there's something so adorable about writing kids! I'm trying to shy away from that, though, because I think I use it a little TOO often. lol
