So in Canada, we have a rule where radio stations have to play 30% Canadian content. So that means that a lot of the hits here were not hits globally. So I'm curious, do you guys know any of these songs I grew up on?

Since I'm talking about Canadian songs, I'm reminded of the french version of Victoria Duffield's Shut Up and Dance

Taught me more french than school :lisalaugh:

Simple Plan was popular. Apparently they named themselves after the Paris+Nicole series because they were watching it right before performing. Something I heard might not even be true.. Avril Lavigne was niche, but popular. I've heard she's popular in Japan. She has done Hello Kitty inspired stuff and did japanese commercials as well. Nickelback and JB are renowned for all the wrong reasons.

edit: I lived in an area that was in the US, but bordered canada, but I don't think thats why I know of them. lol

I did throw in Justin Beiber cause I knew he was at least popular in America too. But the rest was not aware of. But besides those, the rest of the songs you have no idea of?

And Shawn Mendes. But thats it. The one Canadian that was popular right and around the time I was growing up was Alanis Morissette.
