I like it, it seems to be a bit more of a celebration in russian culture than american.
I hope we have that good salad this year again

It is just another day :). we usually say "chin, chin" and go to sleep. I usually spend waiting for the Midnight on the Internet, watching something etc. For like a second I get hopeful and optimistic for a new year and then ... it´s just a casual new day :).
