but there's been a trending tweet about it on twitter that said that he attempted suicide because he couldn't handle prison that has been spreading like wildfire which is heavily misinformative so just putting a warning out there before anyone here runs with it as a fact
first of all, op used the term breaking!, which would imply that the rumours were already hot on social media — they weren't even trending on hot search, and a name search brought up nothing either on weibo — had the topic been actually trending in top 20 I would have been more lenient as long as they dealt with it with discretion but unfortunately they worded it the most sensationalist way possible with an obscure rumour that has barely any traction
then when people started calling them out for it, they justified their tweet by saying that their usage of "apparently" held as a strong disclaimer and that it was being spread in their wechat circle (says a lot about their character if everyone around them thinks those types of rumours are fun to spread around but I digress)
I honestly hope that accounts like these die down and don't try to get their few seconds of fame by spreading misinformation around
really makes me sad how a lot of the anger for justice is getting overshadowed by their greed for clout, really wonder how much of their investment in the case was actually to help those dozens of brave women who have come out with their experiences

op deleted, which I am grateful for but it's upsetting how they were still defending their decision to post it
it just makes me tired? and sad how situations as grave as this one are being used for clout or entertainment
the shirking of responsibility there for the propagation of misinformation leave me with a bad taste too

like if snh fans of all people know not to touch miyo's case, why can't kpop fans learn that this is an actual criminal investigation with a minimum of 23 women coming out as victims/nearly victims + former top fans basically confirming that there was weight to those allegations

OP might have deleted it, but it popped up as trending on UK twitter. It’s dangerous posting something as sensitive as that given the situation.

they also were claiming that they were being polite and neutral posting that
when being polite and neutral in this case would be to wait for official police statements and not cross post rumours across to platforms where users likely don’t know how to check the information

that’s… an awful mindset to have and makes it seem like it was a mutually consensual rs when it was anything but

Yeah I felt sick when I saw it, downplaying it like it should be a badge of honour or privilege. That’s realllllllllllly not what this is.
