The top 4 is the same since 2018 and won't ever change. I am a girl group stan but I love BTS music the most for Korean groups.

Butter is a nice song not their best but I prefer it to a lot of Kpop songs. They have like 200 songs and the highlight is always their b-sides.

It's not something that matters to me. A song is a song. Music transcends language. I love Dynamite, Butter a lot so I listen to them daily. I don't like their last english song that much so I don't listen to it very often. It's the first time that it happens to me with BTS and they have like 30 singles or title tracks by now. I listen way more to Western pop, hip hop and rock music overall than Kpop, anyways. Kpop fans listen to their faves Japanese songs that are not Kpop too but Jpop.

Well, I'm not knocking your tastes. I just don't like the fact that an English song can go on Korean music shows and win them all just because they are a Korean group.
Songs like Dynamite and Butter are aimed at the western market, so, therefore, should be going on western music shows instead.

English songs can win in music shows since the beginning, it's the rule. Let It Go won several music shows but of course you are free to think that it should be changed. Dynamite was aimed for the Western market but became BTS biggest hit in Asia too and particularly in Korea and Japan so at least these wins were representative of what Korean people listen.

I do get your point. I just find it strange and somewhat unfair that the biggest Kpop group in the world can use the Korean market as leverage to do well in the Western market when Kpop is not what they are going for.
I don't mean to be rude to BTS in any way, but they have won so many Korean awards with Western aimed songs. I mean, they both literally sound like Bruno Mars songs.

BTS history is the exact contrary of what you are saying. Korean people slandered them an multiple occasions and did not like them a lot when they were "nugu" in Korea until the beginning of 2017. They were still called nugus at this point even if they were pretty successful but in fact they were only breaking records internationally especially in the US. By the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, their international achievements became hard to ignore so they gained more exposure in Korea which brings them a bigger fanbase and more casual fans/listeners.


They released Dynamite in August 2020 then BE a Korean album with a Korean title track, Life Goes On in November 2020 and this year they came back with their usual yearly Japanese albums and then two English singles that were presented as a trilogy with Dynamite so now they will likely come back with a Korean album. It 's not like they had no intention at all to promote Korean songs in Korea ever again. Between 2020 and 2021, all the members released at least one Korean solo song.
