Do you not think they're just covering kpop songs because a lot of their fans are kpop fans... plus they will have learnt Korean because they were trained in Korea.

No its literally a recent thing xD Most of the members cried cause they couldn't speak korean when they were training but since debut they have..
Gone to korea to busk like 4 times now and now they are studying a new language
