And I plan to get more, as well as breed the ones I have starting next spring.


They're not actually that expensive to keep once you get the basics set up. It's just electricity, food, and bedding for the most part. I get them new enrichment items and hides every so often, too. You'd probably not be freaked out by the itty bitty ones. They're less than a foot long, about as big around as a standard straw at the thickest point, with heads the size of watermelon seeds. They look like cartoons come to life and couldn't hurt you no matter how hard they try.

I’m not necessarily scared of them if they’re pets I’d just prefer not to be near them. My mom used to have a corn snake that got a little over a foot long that I held sometimes but I could never get myself to relax completely I guess.

You'd probably not enjoy my rat snake, then. He's at least five feet. Some people like snakes, others don't, it is what it is.
