Why do so many people think that TXT will 100% get ROTY and no one else has a chance? (3 Viewers)

I think it's because CJ E&M wants to take over the market in general. 5 years is perfect for the group if EXO/BTS members have to enlist and can't promote as full or don't promote at all. I can see what they're trying to do. I don't know if they'll succeed though.

They were already tired of the second season but it doesn't matter. Because it's an entertainment and brings in a lot of money for CJ E&M.

If they treat the final group like W1, they'll get a lot of cash, just simply by half-assing everything.. :pepesad:

Itzy has great digitals but I'm not sure if they can win at the awards show with a single ROTY given out? I don't know their physical sales.

You're right about it. Some international fans are too loud. W1 wasn't that popular with western fans so a lot of people acted like their debut wasn't massive for a rookie at time. And not too many people are invested in PD101 outside Korea either.

That's my main point, that TXT is one of the strong candidates, but people also can't forget that they're not sole candidates and that's what I am annoyed about, haha. I think we should wait for all the results, not hand out awards in March. It's as ridiculous as claiming that a song from January this year will win SOTY in December.

Yeah, but personally since I like this franchise, I might support it. But they have a lot of already debuted idols, even more than the second season. They even have trainees from YG's Treasure Box. But I think that in general the public support is not as high as it was for the second season because in a way it has become worn out. But I still believe they can get high physical and digital sales, just not W1 level of sales.

And I didn't include Treasure because with YG's situation we can't be sure that they'll debut at all this year. :hmm:

Eh people say this every year and the group still does well.

The year literally just began. Many groups can still debut.

So far I personally liked Itzy the most. I do think that they could be a contender for hhe awards.

And I agree. The Pd groups do extremely well so I would never count them out especially now that the next season is a bg one.

I think ITZY will win the female awards but normally its the big fandom group winning the single rookie award that some shows have.

honestly, I don't think it's as "sure" of a thing as most people seem to make it seem. Yeah they have good sales, yt & international charting, but digitally in Korea are they even top 100 anymore?

If another group steps up with good physicals they can definitely challenge.

Also, if txt comes back again - it'll be interesting to see how they do.

Depends what you define as a success. They are nowhere to be seen digitally for example.

I think it's just Twitter fandom bleeding over into all other spaces? "ROTY coming through!" or stupid things like that are easy to say and impactful, but we're super early in the year and the quality of TxT's next comeback will be key. I really like their mini-album, the quality is excellent, but it is very one tone and theme and I can't wait to see more of what they can do (and live ballad singing plz ) And yeah most of their non-Itzy contenders haven't even debuted yet.

I always chock that sorta speak up to stans being hyperbolic together!

ITZY is definitely winning the female ROTY, 9 music show wins on debut, great digitals, I'm sure physicals will be good too once they comeback. And they will comeback for sure, since JYP doesn't make his groups sit out that long.

For the guys, I'm not sure. TxT are one of the favorites for sure but MAMA will definitely go to the Produce group so.

ATEEZ sadly is not eligible because they debuted before cut-off date for all these awards shows. The Boyz debuted in December and thus were eligible for some 2018 rookie awards.
