When someone shows me a picture of a baby… Someone in my church recently gave birth to a little girl and when my mom showed me a picture I was just like- Yup… Its a tiny human. I know the expected reaction is something like “Oh its the cutest, precious little girl ever!” But I just can’t fake it I’m sorry
It’s even worse when I know I get so excited when someone shows me a picture of their pet but with a child I just have very little interest

Kids are just not my thing so I feel you. I was hanging out with a friend when we met their neighbour's kid and she was cooing over him the entire time while I just stood their awkwardly till they left

Crying kids make me real scared like I'll just hand them back to their parents and run immediately.

I don’t even bother cause people can tell that I’m faking emotion. I care more about the kid’s well-being not what they look like, I’m not gonna give you an ego boost and say they’re cute cause I could saythesame to 20 other parents

Every time this happens to me I have to try really really hard not to be like so most of the time I end up looking like

forced pained smile ftw. idc who you are, most of the time babies are ugly and wrinkly and I’ll run for the hills if it cries.

My reaction depends on the kid/pet involved in a case by case basis. Not enthusiastic really; but a picture of a kid just staring to the camera is not the same as one of a smiling toddler. It's similar with pets.
