think that english is hard?ppl say that eng is very complicated in comparison to any language

they say lots of grammar etc etc

but well, grammar aint that important unless if u aiming to be teacher lulx (but seriously i heard u can become eng teacher at japan as long as you can tok in eng lmao)

what's important is that you can communicate with people properly.some ppl can talk fluently but can barely communicate with others lmao

even me cannot remember all grammar - used to be able to remember since i had write essay for exam

language is all about communicating :llama_squish: :llama_tea:

English is easier to speak then to write in my opinion. Theres a lot of silent letters and grammar rules that don’t exactly make sense but I can make the gist of what someone is saying. It has the advantage though because words aren’t masculine of feminine.

i guess language is just about accepting it as it is tho- no need to try hard to brain it.it is way easier if the sentence is short anyway

what masculine or feminine :llama_squish:

Masculine and Feminine was referring to some other languages like French who have gendered words. In school we were literally taught “boy words” and “girl words”. Like how is a desk a girl word?!

It honestly depends on what your purpose of learning any language is. You cant really escape grammar to be honest because without it you wont be able to frame your thoughts more than just stringing together words to express basic ideas. Grammar isnt just exclusive to writing. If you're learning the language for literary reasons then it doesn't really matter whether you can communicate (especially in spoken form) properly or not. If you're learning it for communicating then you should be able to understand basic grammar enough to express yourself effectively.

When it comes to how difficult English is, it depends on when you're learning it and what languages you know. If you're learning it at a young age it's significantly easier and if you know languages in the same family as the one you're learning, that makes it easier too.

Again it depends, I learnt Sanskrit for five years because it was part of my curriculum but we weren't taught to write and say more than very basic sentences but I can still read and translate a lot of it pretty well.

Your level of mastery depends on what your ideal final outcome is. If you only want to be able to talk/communicate, English has a few grammatical rules you have to be familiar with to say the bare minimum but if you want to express anything more than that you'll have to be able to understand the nuances of the language well, which if you aren't familiar with/you speak a language that's very different from the English, can be really difficult.

Maybe I underestimate the amount because english is my first language and I learnt it when I was really young so it's second nature to me. For those learning it for the first time it can feel like a lot.

That's cause they're not exposed to multiple languages at a young age. I learnt three languages simultaneously as a kid and am pretty good at one and decent at the other two. Sanskrit also I'm okay at because I was relatively younger when I started learning it. 1) the older you get and 2) the less languages you've been exposed to as a kid, means the harder it is to pick up a language later in life. I just don't think it's as simple as "learn it or go away" or something like that. Languages are really difficult cause many require you to rewire how your brain processes stuff.

like 'he' or 'she'?

or deeper than that? :llama_shook:
Well "the" has a feminine version which is "la" and "le" is the masculine version. So the dog is a boy word so it's "le chien" and desk is a girl word so it's "la pupitre"
