Not really imo, ever since Train to Busan and now with Parasite they've been gaining more and more. Especially with Squid Game now as well, makes me really happy that the language barrier is broken more and more

As a clarification, it’s more East Asian media rather than Asian media as a whole. South Asian and south East Asian media is still yet to catch on to the scale of East Asian media .

I'm not really surprised. Even since the early 2000s Asian culture at least in the states has been booming.
What shocked me most is the focus on jpop switching over to kpop in recent years with the internet and what not. The early 2000s jpop, jdrama and jmovies and anime were everywhere, now it seems to be since like 2010s the focus has changed to the Korean versions of those things. While j-stuff is still popular, it's still something I've noticed in recent years being a fan of both.

Not really, though I am glad it is getting respected more than they did when they boomed in the 90s 😬 in the 90s people made mad jokes about the cultural differences instead of researching, which I see less often today. 💖
