Which idols are genuinely trying to be close to their fans? (1 Viewer)

and I´m saying genuinely because despite wanting to believe in some magic, I do think that in the end of the day it is part of their job and they know they have to act cute and say how much they love their fans just because of ... popularity = money, but do you think there are fandoms where idols are really trying?
or on the contrary are there idols that try to distance themselves from their fans? and maybe for good reasons.

like I think Seventeen despite having a solid fandom and doing A LOT for their fans, they would be he ones to keep their distance the most.
maybe Ateez too? I feel like they are friendly but there is no one who would be extroverted enough to throw themselves in the middle of the crowd an start a casual convo with the fans.
on the other hand, I do think that Shinee´s Key would gladly start a convo with fans waiting for hours in the rain, but maybe that is just my feeling.

it’s not just for the money they bloody love Grace - and cause they’re the only group under their company (actually ANY idols under their company) they’re SO THANKFUL to Grace for helping them and supporting them. They’re always trying to cheer us up

See it how you want but I think Great Guys is a little les about the money and more about just having fun and spreading joy to us

i think with seventeen it depends.. for example the8 and jeonghan i genuinely believe do appreciate carats but have no problem setting boundaries, and there's nothing wrong with that.

dokyeom feels comfortable enough with carats to get emotional with them & often posts long heartfelt messages on weverse (or the one he wrote in the description of his road cover ;-;), its like he wants to be healing personified for his fans but also finds comfort in their support and kindness but at the end of the day he is a very private person so he does maintain a distance of sorts. woozi is like that too, except he uses his music as a way to connect with fans instead

and then there's hoshi, who sneaks out of waiting rooms and backstage to interact with fans outside the concert halls, pays for fans' meals when he meets them in his private time,... lmao does that mean he appreciates his fans more than, say, vernon or wonwoo? not necessarily imo, thats just his love language and how he expresses his gratitude

in general, i think most idols do really appreciate their fans as a collective and mean it when they say they love them, even if it's only for their support and nothing else. i find it hard to believe they all just see fans as money bags and act nice because they ""have"" to.

I do think that Vernon, Jeognhan and perhaps the8 as well as Joshua are not superclose to their fans and they perhaps concentrate more on the creative part of their work rather than social "obligations" that come with it like vlives, fansigns, playing the role of the "oppa" that many of their fans have in their heads and I am glad they are being themselves. but I have always felt like they would rather not ... do that unless they have. even in Going Seventeen you can hear Jeonghan (while polite) saying that he would rather be home and I sometimes feel sorry for him because he does seem to just .. not enjoy THIS PARTICULAR part of his job while hei s a brilliant and a beloved member.

Seventeen not being superclose to their fans doesn´t make me unstan them, I still love them, my question was less deep, it was more about who is genuinely "people´s person" and which group does it best. because when the group is gonna be composed of 90% of introverts, they will be probably suffering while interacting with their fans and it will be really hard for them to overcome while groups with a lot of extroverts and more natural social talents ... they will just thrive and will do the fanservice even willingly, maybe a bit like Hoshi

Well, thank you. Yet, I've had much trouble finding the courage to post anything about them being they are a Japanese idol group on a kpop forum. Most of the times I've felt like going overboard and annoying everyone. I'd reeeealy love to feel freer to speak about my girls.

honestly, I wasn´t sure if you got my post in a negative way because I wasn´t trying to butcher Seventeen so I am sorry if I got overly defensive. I guess I didn´t word it as well as I had hoped to and it might have come off not as not what I had intended to do.
Vernon is definitely every introvert´s spiritual animal .D. I love him so much :D.
