Baroque Pop is a genre that is centered around rock music with heavy classical influences.
It is identifiable from its adoption of an early orchestral sound & instruments that adhere to an orchestra, that is, appropriating Baroque styles.
Common instruments in the genre include the harpsichord, strings, oboes, woodwinds, brass instruments, pianos, & so on.
It is akin to the music composed by the forefathers of music like Bach & Vivaldi.
Layered harmonies are also a defining characteristic of the genre.

Actually some of my favorite jpop/jrock artist have do baroque pop, it seems like baroque influenced music and style of outfits too is pretty popular in Japan. You can see many Visual Kei artist following it too.

I find Kalafina to be more pop than your traditional baroque pop artists.

And neoclassicism is much wider than baroque pop. Including 20th century artists like Stravinsky & Schoenberg.
It even has a sub-genre called neoclassical metal which is somewhat like symphonic metal.

Kalafina is bit hard to pin down i guess, they often have quite classical and orchestral music, but they also have some rock and folk stuff.

Thanks for the definition, I get pretty mixed up with all different genres especially these obscure one's ; )
