Oh no... I can see that happening tbh :( The situation is not simple where apologies suddenly makes things better so I'm sure it is very awkward for everyone, including the fandom. it's hard to bounce back from something like that and act like everything is fine. Would you be okay if she left? Blackswan has been through so much even when they were known as rania. Has the company at least improved at all since then?
Yeah I joined the fandom after they rebranded themselves as Blackswan. Leia was my bias actually, but then this situation happened and now I feel kind of weird about her. I don't hate her or anything, and I really don't want her to leave the group. Like, I want to see the girls work through this and do well, but idk... I'll be sad, but I'd still support the group of course because I still like Judy, Yougheun, and Fatou and want to see them succeed.
I'm not sure about Dr. Music. I mean, it took a really long while for Blackswan to come back to begin with, and it shouldn't have taken this long, but it is what is. I did like how for this comeback they have given us a lot of content. That's a step in the right direction.
Another thing with Dr. Music is that back when the group was Rania, they would just... add and remove members without telling anyone, which of course made it stressful for the fans. At least with Blackswan, they don't seem to be doing that. Like, the audition for the new members was publicly announced and all that so fans are getting a proper heads up. I'm not sure about adding new members to begin with, but at least they are being communicative about it.
It's also good that Fatou is treated like an actual member of the group. Back when Alex was in Rania, she rarely participated in the choreo, would only go on stage briefly to do her rap and walk off, and the stylists made her look wayy too different from the other members. So it was more like Alex was a glorified feature artist than a real member. Fatou actually participates in the choreo and gets matching styling, so how they treat Fatou compared to Alex is a huge step in the right direction.
I do partially blame Dr. Music for what happened with Fatou and Leia though because they saw these issues happened, and when they saw them start to happened, they should've stepped in. They are supposed to help mediate conflicts and stuff, but they didn't, and of course it got worse, and reached a boiling point to where the members took to social media about it... so it makes the company look bad to me because they were either careless or ignorant.
Though, one thing I will note about the conflict is that Dr. Music issued a statement on it rather quickly and called out the racism. So I do commend them for that. Based on how they were in the past, I could've easily seen them not say anything about it, and try to let the issue die on its' own or something...
I think overall, there are some aspects Dr. Music improved in, but not enough to properly manage the group, which is unfortunate.
