the main plot is jisoo's character falling in love with a spy or something like that, honestly i don't think the historical background was needed for that. could have made it a casual romcom series but now they got a blue house petition

It was actually something I studied in university so it is a topic that is close to my heart, it's a very important part of South Korean history that should never be messed with or treated disrespectfully. This wikipedia article about the Gwangju Uprising is also helpful to understand just how much South Korean students went through to protest their freedom. The Gwangju Uprising happened in the town of Gwangju and was heavily suppressed from the media to the point where people in other cities didn't know that the goverrnment had blockaded the town and were torturing arresting murdering the civilians daily.

The show takes in ACTUAL NAMES OF PEOPLE who participated in those precious protests, not only mocks them, but depicts them as if they "deserved to die because they were North Korean spies/they were in touch with the spies."

i actually hope that it will happen, i think one of the people portrayed in the show is still ALIVE so i hope she sues their asses if they touch her reputation

I'm just waiting for them to announce the cancellation... there is no way it can go on without any of this getting worse. it's just not worth it with the actors and actresses involved either, this will follow them for the rest of their careers :/ I understand that this was supposed to be a huge opportunity for Jisoo, but I don't think accepting this role was the best decision. hopefully she'll be able to redeem herself after this. I don't know why the producers thought this was a good idea knowing the history and how the general public would react...

I was actually looking forward to this drama but I couldn't start it because I don't think I'd like it with that kind of plot and the way it's upset so many people, and is touching such a significant part of their history with no sensitivity. I can't understand the cast, and especially Jisoo tbh girl should've just done true beauty or a harmless drama like that..

i mean it's disappointing to see her acting career start off like this but after all she picked this role on her own i think it's better for her if the drama gets cancelled, idk why her stans want to keep defending it so bad when they know it's not going to end well
