I don't answer. If you pick up just to hang up, they will know your phone is active. Just let it ring.

I let it ring most the time. But if they call on the home line instead of my cell, we don’t have call display so we don’t know who’s calling, so it could be my mom or a spam caller. I’ll just mess with the spam caller cause it’s funny

dont pick up and block the number, or sometimes i'll pick up in case its an important call and just tell them i'm not interested and hang up

If I ever pick up one of those calls, be it legitimate or a scam (I'd not know which one), I just tell them "we don't accept offers by phone" and hang up.
