She may mean well, but there are many ways to honour Jonghyun. For somebody without Korean heritage, this isn’t it.

the husband is right... putting aside the fact that it's very weird to give an asian name to a white european child, their son will have to explain to everyone he meets why he has that name and obviously correct the pronounciation as well. like you can always get a tattoo or name a pet after a celebrity or character you like which is common, there is no need to make your fandom/interest a part of a child's identity. i'm not planning to have children but if i did i'd never name my daughter kim lip or trinity because i know she'd hate me for it

or maybe something in relation to Jonghyun? Like, he died right before Christmas, so she could give the kid a Christmas-themed name, like Gabriel or Nicholas. That way, the reference to JH will be subtle enough not to cause him any trouble later in life.

that's..
she can give him a name related to him instead of his actual name, for example taking a look through his songs or favourite things
he really loved the moon for example and there are many names that mean or symbolize that
