No, cause you're right. I don't get why younger kids in fandoms like to ostracize the adults, when the majority of the time, they're carrying and fueling it. (doesn't apply to teens with jobs) And they love to tell them that their too old to be into such things, when in reality things don't have an age limit, other than the obvious things that need it. And let's not get into the minors that like to sexualize themselves and other people as well.I've been thinking a lot recently about how age has become so flipped. Especially in fandoms. I remember back in like the early 2010s where it was cool to be 16-18. You were viewed as the cool people if you were the older kids/teens/young adults in the fandom. I remember wanting to be friends with those people in the fandoms I was in. Now it's like the complete opposite.
Sometimes it makes me uncomfortable. The amount of like...13 year olds who are a part of fandoms they really shouldn't be apart of. I'm not talking about KPOP with that statement by the way. I'm talking more about like... tiktok is really bad with it. Like there's that new sound that's trending, the bimbo song? There are so many KIDS dancing and lipsyncing and making videos with that song. It's lyrics are extremely vulgar, it's made for adults. As are a lot of trends on tiktok.
I see a lot of people talking about how adults are the ones creeping into kids spaces. Although sure that does happen in other spaces, I think they forget that places like tiktok, twitter, omegle, etc. Those places were made for adults. Or at least like 16/17+.
I could go on and on about like why things like that make me uncomfortable, but I know I'll probably just get told to F off or to leave the fandom because I'm 19 almost 20.
Seriously... I see a lot of people complaining about the sexualization of idols, but in reality the only people I've seen doing it, is the minors... It's not always them, but I've not seen 18+ people do it. Not seriously, at least. No, cause you're right.
