Ageism when it comes to kpop stans is confusing (1 Viewer)

I know it's few and far between (I hope) but the fact that there are kpop stans that will not want to interact with you if even you are 25+?

I do understand completely wanting to be careful if you are a minor and don't want to interact too much with adults, but I've seen adults (18+) not want to interact with other adults (22+ sometimes) and it doesn't make sense.

Anyway anticipate me in 2 years being shunned for being a kpop fan, I already would be now considering my age by some

I have seen 16-18 year olds be called old fans, and me being 20 is here like…. what am I? Ancient?

Ive noticed this too and i ever so often have these thoughts that what if people see me as weird old man cause some kpop fans concider 20yo as old and im turning 26. i tend to overthink things and make worse case scenarios in my head which makes the feeling sometimes really unbearable.

Same. I spend my money on what I like, whether that’s buying albums or on a streaming subscription. I do it because it makes me happy.

honestly this whole discourse about enjoying kpop at a certain age is just so weird to me. after all it's just a music genre, you don't go around telling people in their 40s they can't watch movies anymore.

I think it's just related to preconceived notions about Kpop fans and even other Kpop fans have that idea that if you're a Kpop fan it means you're not really doing anything with your life. There are definitely Kpop fans like that however I think more often than not Kpop is just a means of escapism for people who have stress in other areas of their life even if it's just school.
