Mnet spills their Queendom requirements justifying Kep1er (1 Viewer)

Mnet held a press conference for Queendom 2 and the subject of Kep1ers participation came up to which they responded



Now I don't believe the sales really are part of the requirement given Oh My Girl had sold 30k with their album prior to Queendom but requiring a music show win either directly or by extension adds up for every contestant.​

I'm all for KEP1ER being on Queendom, but i guess most shows, like Road To Kingdom, will have requirements as well

Kep1er being on Queendom was just kind of silly choice with the format since there's the Opening performance, the Hit performance, the Cover performance then the Bside performance and Kep1ers album has the intro, the title, a bside and then 3 Kep1er versions of their survival show songs so they have 1 title track between their Hit and Cover performances.

The main point of the thread though was to highlight that if the requirement is for groups to need music show wins then a lot of groups people want for Kingdom or Queendom are ruled out like Dreamcatcher can't go on it until they get a win if that's a requirement.

I think Mnet only added Kep1er because they saw the lineup they had and figured Kep1er would be able to win since Kep1ers debut album sales you have to combine Loona, WJSN, Brave Girls and Viviz to be able to beat it so fandom wise they clearly dominate. If Kep1er do win though I wonder when they'll use the comeback show as I feel they will need a few more comebacks for it to be a real comeback show.

Highly doubt they would be able to increase the viewership. The first season had multiple groups with hits and well-known with the public and Mamamoo was still high up on the trend scale and the viewership was still... This season, it's just Brave Girls who can't get people to watch as much as they could have last year.
Kep1er is at huge advantage to win this whole thing and even if they don't for the remaining 1%, they probably just wanted the sale booster effect that it had on some season 1 groups. This might have been the easiest way for them to get to 500k sales or something.

When i read this i figgered Mnet/Queendom 2 producers already had picked Kep1er as one of the contestants n when they won a music show #1, they had a rationale to include 'em (n VIVIX too).

Idrc much either way, as VIVIZ being included (n WJSN too) gives me reason to watch (n support 'em succeeding on Queendom S2), but im not kidding myself tat VIVIZ (or WJSN) hv any realistic chance of getting ahead of Kep1er on this show.

PS out of curiosity all 6 participants of Queendom S1 had at least a music show win, but dint gugudan or APRIL/DIA the reported/rumored groups in original line-up NOT hv music show wins? So either the rumors r fake, or the criteria of music show #1 wins wasnt in place then(i bkscrolled KS threads on Queendom S1 after i got curious watching the preview). So much rumor/speculation b4 the show even got confirmed!!

The rumoured lineup was never proven to be true but if it was then there was also the factor of one of the people asking who would watch this lineup and Gugudan, April and DIA the ones that were dropped from it were also dropped in the order of April and Gugudan first who didn't have music show wins of their own only Sejeong by herself and then DIA was dropped last because MBK took too long which DIA had a #1 win.

Only LOONA made into Queendom 3 yrs l8r, while i mighta paid attention/watched for Everglow if i already noticed Everglow's Adios MV by that point in time. Of non big 3 ggs, only if Gfriend was in Queendom S1 woulda given me reason to watch in 2019, as i dint stan Oh My Girl or GIDLE until at least 2020(late at tat). I still hvnt watched season 1.

At this point so far removed, who even knows if any of the ggs were even close to confirmed yet.

I think the only potentially credible rumour is the one which has Oh My Girl, (G)I-dle and Lovelyz in the original lineup then April, Gugudan and DIA only because the show itself seemed set up to be 6 girl groups but Bom ended up there on her own which wasn't a wise choice as Bom did not have the talent to compete with a group versus Hyolyn this season who is a well known ace so she can compete with groups so there being a producer who forced Bom like that specific rumour says would add up.

I do think a soloist does add an interesting level going up against the groups but Bom just was not the right choice as it needs to be not just a vocalist but a dancer as well since the groups will be able to do both to a degree although with Oh My Girl being in the 1st season that really did not play to Boms favour either neither does Viviz for Hyolyn this season as both of them can do vocals and dance to a high level.

In terms of people I am hoping to get recognition from Queendom it'd be Viviz then Loona then WJSN since I stan Viviz so that's obvious I'm hoping for them to be able to use it to get a strong start then Loona as I am a fan of them and feel they are probably the artist who could use the growth the most with the position they are in then WJSN would be just because I like them as well as I don't think they're in a bad situation although it is unfortunate what happened with the Chinese line.
