Crêpes vs pancakes (1 Viewer)

What is your favorite? And what do you put on it?

I prefer crêpes with nutella

Crepe.. I think.

Both of them are bit different in Finland, you need to go to some american style diner for pancakes and french style cafe for crepes. But crepe is closer to Finnish "lettu" so that one ^^

Yeah the UK is similar, except we call both French style crepes and American pancakes ‘pancakes’. To make it more confusing, we also have Scotch pancakes, which are like American pancakes but smaller.

I prefer the crepe style though, just because they’re lighter (so I can eat more of them)

I haven't tasted american pancakes actually. There is pannukakku which literally translates to pancake here, but it's made in oven, it's spongy and usually square so it doesn't seem to have anything to do with american ones ^^;

I have tasted proper crepe once and that was good ^^ I think it had chocolate banana filling.

Well, I never tried american pancakes so I can't tell. But I love crepes with banana, nutella and ground biscuits.

Man idk what the hell is a crepe however I hate sugar so Imma pick which taste the best with the least sugar.

I’m european too xD but crepes and pancakes seem to have too many variables

Aren't crepes basically just super thin pancakes? I only had them once before and from what I remember, I definitely prefer pancakes.

and crepes match better with chocolate/fruits/ice cream, i think pancakes match better with syrups

ooh and in my country crepes don't have sugar, so you can make them as a meal as well, with meat, mushrooms etc

And yeh, adding fruit or chocolate to pancakes just feels like a mouthful and although syrups are also sweet, fruit and chocolate tastes too sweet somehow. I love fluffy pancakes though. Actually, I think I may be obsessed with pancakes. Literally my favorite unhealthy food out there.

I don't think crepes are that popular here at all honestly. Pancakes and waffles seem to have all the hype and I never even see crepes on menus. This thread made me want to taste them again.

And yesss with maple syrup. I don't like maple syrup but it tastes AMAZING on pancakes. Especially when combined with creamy (sallted) butter. 😍
Now I feel like pancakes... :(

Definitely better. The combination of salty and sweet is seriously amazing on pancakes. Definitely try it some day. But make sure to beat the butter to make it creamy/fluffy before you put it on your pancake. :)

They're on because I get them sometimes. I have been getting the March Madness notifs (although I didn't get them eiher at one point) but that's basically it. I have visited threads and have seen that I had a tag but I never got the notif. I haven't received a single notif from any of your tags though.
