honestly this is quite a controversial question to ask but i would say yes because imo, there are situations such as the passing of someone which you may not prefer saying in order to prevent the other party from getting hurt. ofc i know that the truth will eventually be revealed but if the lie im telling does more good than harm, i'd rather do it than to hurt someone with the truth

Yes, as long as that lie doesn't snowball into bigger lies or cause harm to the other person. If a white lie is told to protect someone, I think that can be fine

i'm not the poster child for honesty by any means, but i think it's better to say the truth and be tactful/constructive about it than lie, even if it seems relatively harmless. a little while lie once in a while might not hurt but when you make it a habit people take note and it makes you seem unreliable. sometimes the truth hurts but it's always more beneficial in the long run.

it's honestly one of my biggest pet peeves when i ask someone their opinion and i have a feeling they're just telling me what they think i want to hear. if the dress looks bad on me, don't tell me i look great if i don't. don't tell me i look bad if i do. you can tell me it "doesn't compliment/accentuate your figure like it should" and suggest we take a look at some other options.

santa claus, easter bunny, etc white lies are fine IMO. for if ur giving opinions on clothing or whatever, id probably just say I like it but maybe this could work better if its someone I don't really know that well or a stranger asking for my opinion. if its someone Im good friends with ill tell them nicely that it wont work well

In situations it can be as like for example if someone is insecure about their looks and they trust you then you just saying they look bad even if it's just in that specific moment could shatter their self confidence so in that scenario then sticking to honesty can do a lot of damage.

it depends on the situation but overall...i guess so...but one cant always lie about what the think but it's good for difficult situations unless only certain people know....but I have sometimes done that with things but if you get caught, well there's no lying now....

I hate that parents tell their children to never lie because it's bad and can ruin relationships, but at some point, they say it's okay to tell "white lies" since those "aren't harmful." Why do they confuse their children like that??
