Crunch on This: Top 100 Songs of March (1 Viewer)

[CrunchyLegend]

This March, kpop woke up from its winter slumber, IU made the top ten without singing a single word, and I actually liked a Gfriend song. More tracks made the initial cut this time than the previous two months combined, so I will do a top 100 to show some appreciation for all the great music that blessed my ears this month. Also, all kpop/idol songs now appear in pink to make the list easier to scan if you're only interested in those.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH: Maybe this is becoming a sentimental award, but this month it goes to Park Bom for completing a five year long journey back to the stage she never should have left. Swervy gets the honorable mention, making the most of her move to Hi Lite Records with two features on the list this month and continuing to easily out-rap anyone she appears on a track with. Check out her verse on High Beam.

DISCOVERY OF THE MONTH: Vincent Blue wins for coming out of practically nowhere with a flawless and gorgeous r&b song. Honorable mention goes to High School for an interesting concept backed by a good song, will be anticipating more from them.

GENRE OF THE MONTH: Kpop wins, as expected from a month full of anticipated comebacks that mostly met and, in some cases, exceeded expectations. Ballads get the honorable mention for beautiful songs from Choi Jungyoon, OurR, Stella Jang, Cracker and Marvin.

MV OF THE MONTH: A new award starting this month. Land of Peace's Coastal Night Out gets the nod for its simple and sweet narrative about a girl and her vampire friend. Honorable mentions for Sunmi's four minute long roast of social media addicts in Noir and Epik High's stylish cinematic MV for Lovedrunk featuring kung fu queen Lee Jieun.

It's a good song. Doesn't need the autotune but I can live with it. If I rejected every KHH song with autotune there would be basically nothing left.

Also great Rick Bridges song came out today.

Now go listen to Swervy making Hash Swan wish he was still back on SMtM.

True, but what if autotune is the only way they can sing?

I liked the Rick Bridges song too. Hash Swan sounds high asf 24/7 but he's actually kind of good, Swervy killed it though.

What if they just stopped trying to sing?

I'm so glad she signed with a real company. I think she's one of the best pure rappers in Korea. She needs to be heard! And Eco Yard was one of the worst offenders of autotune abuse

I am sorry, what is this travesty?

A lot of songs to check out so this helps a lot. It’s good you actually have a chance to the smaller artist. I’m hoping to have more songs to add to my playlist. c: Yes. Park Bom deserves the appreciation for waiting so long. Someone who truly shows they just wanted to sing.
Great detailing,Crunchy. c^: Just think you probably had this so much longer before cutting it down

[Jichuus]

I love this list. Will definitely check out some of these songs

Exactly my thought when I heard a potentially great song ruined by wall to wall autotune with zero subtlety that adds nothing and is actually pretty distracting, making repeated listens less enjoyable. Still a good song anyway, and 44 isn't bad considering how many good songs there were this month.

I think I listened to somewhere between 700 and 800 tracks this month, cut it down to 142, then the 100 that got listed.

True. This month was packed. But them again it's only their debut. EVERGLOW shall RIIIISE.
