Turns out there was no vacation and the context was trying to get a doctor's appointment for that specific date.... So that is a good thing at least

The staff here definitely deserve more appreciation for their hard work. It’s not an easy job and especially while many are balancing school, work, sports or other activities and doing this out of their own free time. It’s often thankless work which is truly unfortunate.
