Turns out they weren't eligible for charts until 1PM KST! The girls finally debuted on the charts now though! They debuted at #6 on Melon! We'll see how they debuted on other charts after Instiz updates

Black Pink are KILLING it internationally. Record breaking views and lots of #1s on iTunes charts + first K-girl group to get to #1 on the US chart. So they're doing absolutely amazing right now. But I'm so confused with what is going on in Korea. I thought their song wasn't released because I couldn't see it on any chart but apparently it is released but it's only charting on one chart...? I'm so lost. They're like the biggest digital monsters out of the new gen girl groups and every single one of their songs have been hits whether public friendly or not. So what in the world is going on with Kill This Love? K-nets are usually all talk but their word is usually different from reality. But is the country actually retaliating and boycotting anything YG related? Or is there something wrong with the charts? Because how is it possible to be at #26 on Instiz when you're only charting on one real-time chart? Nothing makes sense.

That's the latest update. I keep looking at it and it just doesn't make sense to me... If the public is really following through and boycotting YG, then I feel terrible for the girls. They did absolutely nothing wrong so it's so unfair that they're the ones that are being affected. I'm kind of really hoping this is some sort of glitch. If not, then I have no idea what to say. I just hope this puts YG in his spot and he stops being so arrogant. He really needs to go. Can they just quickly investigate him and whoever else so the innocent ones stop paying for their crimes?​

Aren't the charts still frozen tho? They released the song at midnight for Korea which would mean that they released the song at a time when the charts froze because of the new rule that they implemented a few months ago... I would give it more time. ^-^

As far as I'm aware, they unfreeze at 7AM. So it's been almost 4 hours since they were running again.

What time do the charts unfreeze? I thought they unfreeze at 7AM and it's currently 11AM in Korea.

But if it's because the charts are still frozen then that would make heaps of sense. And I'd be glad the public isn't taking their anger out on the innocent.

tbh I dont really know, what I've gotten from stans on twitter is that it's still frozen, but I looked up the times and they shouldn't be frozen. and even though the gp are mad at yg, D4 and jennies solo are still charting. so I think that the charts are just a little weird. jennie is the it girl for Korea and blackpink are always number one for brand reputations, so I dont think the gp would just abandon them for something that isnt their fault.

Oh wow really? Do you know why? A rule like that does seem familiar to me but I thought it had more to do with unique listeners. I can't remember what it was about at all though. But that would make a lot of sense. I guess we'll see in 2 hours. Hopefully they'll rise.

I think its something with the release. tbh waiting until the morning is probably our best bet. because the gp wouldn't just leave them like that and listen to their older songs like its no big deal. also, kblinks would be streaming so it wouldn't be this low. this whole thing is just weird.

I know right? It's super weird. Apparently they're not eligible to chart until 1PM though so that would explain this whole situation. There's 2 hours until 1PM so we'll see what happens.

Chart rules changed not long ago, meaning songs released at 12am KST don't get placed on the charts officially until between the hours of 12PM and 6PM KST (for the Instiz iChart). It was a way to stop idol groups from earning #1 based on fandom streaming at night etc.

As of writing this it's only 11:30am in Korea. BP should start climbing Instiz from 12PM, when they "officially" enter the ichart (which is the collective statistics of all of the Korean music charts).

I think right now Bol4 are the biggest competition at the moment. They're completely dominating. But you're right, this is such a competitive time to release music. The top 10 is filled with digital monsters.

They debuted at #6 on Melon which is beyond impressive considering the competition! I'm not sure how they're doing on other charts but we'll see one Instiz updates! :D

Lol yeah competition is huge but they'll probably rise, Bol4 will probably be their biggest obstacle, and Taeyeon/Chen seem to be doing well too
