This is another case of compulsory heterosexuality, especially if she's not interested in guys.

If that's the case, then all of her life, she's already been told this by a lot of people when she wants a girlfriend, so it's definitely a bit of a problem when someone you look up to says something like this, especially when I have seen other idols support them or encourage them to get someone of the same sex.

I disagree. I see what you’re trying to say, but the wording changes the context. If OP had asked “How can I get a girlfriend?” And Shuhua replied like that yes I could see why it could be perceived as wrong. But knowing Shuhua it sounds like she was having it on with the OP, not trying to enforce compulsory heterosexuality

Ok, but they are still asking Shuhua what they should do if they can't find a girlfriend, they didn't mention any bf, so why would she be happy about that answer? Do you really think any lesbian or gay guy (if it was them instead) be happy with this answer? I honestly don't think they would be, because she's probably heard this all of her life.

I do agree with you though that Shuhua most likely didn't mean any harm with it and that she was having a bit of fun, especially reading the first tweet again, but I think she has to be careful of what she says because people can get offended, and since lesbians and other form of wlw is already seen as 'for the male gaze' etc, it can be difficult for a girl who likes other girls and who has already been through a lot to take this tweet light-heartedly.

I don't think it's an issue since Shuhua I'd assume has no way of knowing what gender the fan is or even sexuality the fan is for it to be taken as mean spirited without blowing it out of proportion since context matters and that could even be a heterosexual male asking what they should do if they can't get a girlfriend which considering most of the discussion here only assumes she's talking to a strictly homosexual female on a Chinese website I might add seems short sighted.

Then the question would be how is it displayed? Plenty of variables I could throw your way that provide an obstacle for proving intent rather than the assumptions you're making that she just must have known which being able to prove intent is the only thing that matters at the end of the day as assumptions are only based on personal perception so without hard proof then there's no story here
