first of all, i think ur threads r very interesting and these questions spark a lot of debate, if people take them seriously and at face value

the fact is, kpop and any other sort of boy/girl group related content even in western side is mostly teens, which idolize someone. admiring people to me is totally normal, ill say that. u can have someone u look up to and nothing wrong with that. the stan community is way more toxic. i mean anyone that heard the song from eminem that inspired the whole thing should know that, but ye. if u attack something they look up to so much ur gonna get some backlash. i would never take any shit of someone talking bad about my father for example, may he rest in peace. thats how these people see those things. they take it personally and someone that goes against what they believe to be true is the enemy
i think its that simple. its a matter of what u like and sometimes willing to defend that person from a random on the web

also i dont think the statement "oh they dont know u exist" is the best way to go about it, cause that way they wouldnt know the anti did also, so why is one superior to the other? they both voicing an opinion no?

I agree. But some defend these groups even if they're completely in the wrong. And even dismiss the offended communites valid reasons for not liking / anti-ing said group.

ill give ya an example of my experience. big metal fan myself and very big fan of exodus and slayer, which at around 2017 had the same guitarrist, gary holt. amazing musician, loved him, but at one point he posted a guy with a slayer shirt at coachella which to him looked gay and he ranted on the post that metal shirts werent to be just things for fashion for gays dudes and ive never seen him again. i blocked him and all. that was someone i had respect towards, cause the music he was in was so good

so i completely feel ya on that. theres a time to defend someone u look up to and theres a time to say "NO i cant support this"

i think it would depend in the situation. me being older, even tho i dont know ur age, lets put it that way... if my father was in a case where he was gonna be convicted of pedophilia i would never believe it till there was proof. stans see idols almost and sometimes with more respect than their parents, or admire them more even
idk maybe im too much of a person that tries to put myself on someones shoes, even tho i would never see myself in the same situation

Even so.. It's still a terrible problem within stan culture.. They need to realize these people can and will make mistakes..
